THE GYLE SHOPPING CENTRE
Sigma Surveys was approached by Threesixty Architecture who had been appointed to refurbish The Gyle Shopping Centre on the west side of Edinburgh.
The existing centre, constructed in 1993 is a large multi tenant shopping centre with two 45? wings at either end. The mall and external areas were measured using a Trimble TX8 3D Scanner to produce a 3D pointcloud which could be digitised into accurate CAD drawings.
Sigma Surveys provided the architectural team with a full topographical survey of the car park and surrounding road infrastructure as well as an underground utility survey to the same extents. A full measured building survey was undertaken which included full detailed floor plans, internal mall elevations, external building envelope elevations, reflective ceiling plans and numerous cross sections throughout.
